THE CREST

The round figure ‘the sun’ represents the light and fire of the Holy Spirit.
The cross in the centre represents the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The letter ‘S’ stands for Salvation.
The sword represents the warfare for salvation. The shots represent the truths of the gospel.
The crown represents the crown of glory, which God will give to all his soldiers who are faithful to the end.
‘Blood and Fire’, the Army’s motto, refers yet again to Christ’s sacrifice and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

 THE FLAG
The colours seen here on the flag are: red for the blood of Christ, blue for the purity of God and yellow for the power of the Holy Spirit

Many members wear a uniform and we use military terms to describe aspects of our worship and organisation.
It is in each community that we meet real needs, build relationships and share God’s love.

1.CARING FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
The Salvation Army believes in the importance of family life and tries to help families by holding;
· Parent and toddler groups, nurseries, breakfast clubs and after school clubs
Parenting classes to help parents and young single mothers learn how to care for their children
Family rehabilitation centres to help families whose children have been taken into care
Safe accommodation for women and children who have suffered domestic violence
Family tracing service to trace missing relatives and reunite families

2.WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE
The Salvation Army supports young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to find direction for their lives, or simply a place to feel safe and belong.
· Street work helping young people at risk of falling into prostitution, drugs and crime
· Youth clubs, drop-in centres and holiday schemes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and low-income families

ALOVE is The Salvation Army’s strategy for youth work and ministry; calling young people to dynamic faith, radical lifestyle, adventurous mission and a fight for justice. By;
· Creating new expressions of church in some of the poorest regions of the UK and Ireland
· Training young leaders and youth workers
· Developing social inclusion iniatives
· Running events for young people

LABORANTE KUN JUNULAROJ

3.HELPING THE HOMELESS
The Salvation Army helps homeless people, but offering food, clothes and shelter is just a small part of what our work is about.
More than 50 residential care centres for homeless people in the UK and Ireland providing over 3,000 beds every night in total
Soup runs, night teams and drop in centres in our major cities
Rehabilitation centres designed to meet the need of each individual
Counselling which homeless people would not normally be able to access

3.HELPANTE LA GESENHEJMULOJN

4.CARING FOR THE ELDERLY
The Salvation Army offers friendship, loving care and practical help to older people who find themselves alone and in need of support
· Lunch clubs providing meals for those who find it difficult to cook for themselves
· Residential care homes for those who can no longer live on their own
· Home visits from Salvation Army ministers and staff working in our community and social centres
· Christmas day meals for people who may not have any family
· Clubs, activities and outings designed specifically for this age group

5.RESPONDING IN EMERGENCIES
The Salvation Army provides practical love in a suffering world. When a bomb explodes, a hurricane hits or a flood threatens homes and lives, we on hand to help.
We have an emergency plan for each region of the UK and Ireland, with emergency vehicles and trained staff. There are similar facilities in place all round the world.
These are the kind of services we offer;
· Help with evacuation
· Providing hot drinks and food for the emergency workers
· Food and shelter for victims
· Counselling bereaved families
· Handling queries about missing persons
· Ongoing care and practical help

5. RESPONDANTE DUM KRIZOKASOJ
